ZIMBABWE CORPS OF SIGNALS

BI-METAL

1980 - CURRENT

The Zimbabwe Corps of Signals was formed on the 18th April 1980 from the Rhodesian Corps of Signals when the country changed it's name from Rhodesia to Zimbabwe.

The Corps cap badge was altered by merely changing the name that was in the scroll under the globe that Mercury stands on from Rhodesia to Zimbabwe. The Soap Stone Bird or Zimbabwe Bird remained above the out stretched arm of Mercury until the late 1990's when the plinth that the bird sits on changed to that more in keeping with the Soap Stone Bird and plinth that appears on the National Flag.  The photo below is merely to show the collar badge configuration of looped or ring fixings for both collars.
