CEYLON SIGNAL CORPS

CAP AND COLLARS

1966 - 1982

In 1966 it was decided to do away with the C.S.C. titles that had previously been worn by Ceylon Signal Corps personnel in favour of a locally produced pair of collar badges similar to Royal Corps of Signals badges but smaller in size and made of brass. These collar badges were made by local craftsmen  and hence not all collar badges were identical. A pair of these collar badges can be seen in the illustration above.

Ceylon became independent in 1972 and became the Republic of Sri Lanka. It was not however until 1982 that the cap and collar badge shown above was changed to the current style Sri Lanka Corps of Signals insignia that can be seen elsewhere on this site.
