SULTAN'S ARMED FORCES (SAF).

CORPS OF SIGNALS.

ALL RANKS, WHITE METAL.

CIRCA - 1980

This is the cap badge of the Sultan of Oman's Armed Forces Corps of Signals as worn in the early 1980's. The Force Signal Squadron developed from a Single Troop in 1968 and has consequently grown in size until there are now two Signal Regiments and a School of Signals in the Force.

The above white metal cap badge of the Force Signals from the late 1970's or early 1980's depicts a Gazelle's head superimposed on crossed Khanjars (daggers) with a scroll in Arabic, which reads Signal Corps and was worn on a blue felt backing.

The badge prior to this was a single Arabian dagger, in white metal, with a scroll in Arabic with the single title Signal Troop. The current badge is a combined SAF badge.
