NEW ZEALAND SIGNAL CORPS

OFFICER'S PATTERN

BRONZE

1912 - 1921

The above illustration is that of an Officer’s Pattern Bronze cap badge of the Infantry and Mounted Signals Corps and from the 1st July 1913 known as the Mounted Signals Troops and Divisional Signal Corps (New Zealand Engineers) as part of the Engineers Signal Service.

Officers of the Infantry Divisional Signal Corps (New Zealand Engineers) wore the Bronze version of this cap badge. There is a larger (Brass) version of this badge elsewhere on this site, which was worn by the Mounted Signals Troops (New Zealand Engineers). Although I have never seen one, I can only assume there may well be a Bronze version of the larger pattern badge for the use of Officers.

This particular badge has the makers name on the reverse which is Stokes and Sons of Melbourne.
