THE CORPS OF PIPES AND DRUMS

OF

THE ROYAL CORPS OF SIGNALS

 FEATHER BONNET HACKLE

 2006 - 2009

The reason for the above illustration of the Ten Inch Feather Bonnet Hackle originally worn by the Drum Major, Bass and Tenor Drummers of the Corps of Pipes and Drums is that it is no longer worn.

I am indebted to Corps Pipe Major J A Scott for advising me that at a Dress Committee meeting on the 30th September 2009, along with several other changes in dress. The Drum Major will as of date no longer wear the Feather Bonnet and Hackle.

Pipers of the Corps of Pipes and Drums will still wear the Glengarry with the nine inch Cock Feathers and retain the remainder of the highland dress. The Drum Major, and all the Corps of Drums will wear the red jacket and britches and will change the Glengarry cap for a Busby. The change in dress will take place on the 24th April 2010 on the Corps first engagement of the year at Blandford.
